I don’t know about you all, but I am always on the search for some drugstore makeup products that I actually like. I hardly ever buy drugstore makeup so when I do, it is usually a product that I think is really good. Over the past few months, I have been experimenting with swapping out a few of my high end makeup products for the same thing in the drugstore version. Some were hits, some were misses but I am going to share a couple of my favorites that I have been using lately and why they are comparable, if not equivalent or better, than the high end version.
First, I was at Target about 2 months ago just browsing the aisles (story of my life!) and the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara caught my eye. I think it mainly caught my eye because it almost looks like an exact dupe to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara! Literally, the tubes are almost identical! I figured since they were similar I would give it a try since the Better Than Sex is actually a mascara that I enjoy using. Guys, this mascara is amazing! For only being like $8, this mascara looks AND feels like a high quality product. It goes on smoothly and the brush is perfect. You only need one, maybe two, coats also. I will say that it dries up fairly quickly, but I go through it fast so it doesn’t really matter. I have seriously fallen in love with this mascara, it might be my new fave!
Next, the E.l.f. Face Primer is comparable to the Smashbox primer! E.l.f. has different types for different needs, similarly to Smashbox. I have used the mineral infused, the tone adjusting and the brightening so far and it smooths on just like the Smashbox. I was so shocked! This primer is very inexpensive, like $6 I think, and it is a nice switch from the $36 high end primer. It makes my face feel so smooth and my makeup looks flawless over it. Plus, considering the fact that I am on my third bottle says something about how good it is! Definitely recommend this if you are searching for a good, cheap primer!
Lastly, the Covergirl Neutralizer Concealer is a product that I have been using for years now. It is a neutralizer, so it completely cancels out all redness and dark circles. I use this under my eyes a lot, especially if I’ve had a long night or early morning. (#momlife) It makes a huge difference in the way that my makeup looks for the day.
Shoot me an email if you have any other drugstore faves that I should be trying out!
